WELCOME TO THE COVE
A Lively Learning Experience
I lovingly call my room 'the cove' because it feels somewhat secluded from the rest of the school. There are no windows, so it is easy to forget about what is going on outside of the music room. It is inside our school, and yet it feels like its own location. Students are encouraged to leave their troubles at the door as they enter. I strive to create a safe, creative, and positive environment for our young learners.
ALL ABOUT 'THE COVE'
This is where our music and GT classes meet. Here we learn how to be active, respectful listeners like Pete the Cat. We utilize the open space to move to music and play games. Our "rhythm rules" and "music expectations" walls help remind us how to be good team players and great musicians. Our Noteworthy Words wall and Reward Boards help monitor our progress.
Pete reminds us how to be active listeners!
Students learned about J.S.Bach my first week of maternity leave
We place words we have learned on the wall under our grade level.
Students displaying inappropriate behavior spend some time in the reflection center. They can rejoin the class once they understand what would be the better choice.
We use our Promethean Board every day!
