My name is Laura Herring. I am the Music teacher and Gifted & Talented instructor at Douglas Elementary School. I have been teaching for 6 years. I attained my Bachelor's of Music Education from Newberry College in 2012. While in college, I taught private piano lessons and worked as a church pianist. I am happy to be working in the school district where I grew up. I love what I do.

I became a mommy this past summer and am so in love with my little girl. Being a mommy, being a music teacher, and teaching private lessons after school keeps me very busy, but I love it! I enjoy reading, hiking, and exploring new places. For stress relief, I like practicing yoga, taking nature/landscape photos, and singing. I am both a tea and coffee person. My favorite color is blue and my favorite candy is Peanut Butter M&Ms (Reese's Pieces are also amazing). I love the beach and the mountains. I love all things related to Autumn, Snoopy (from Peanuts), and Christmas (especiallly The Nutcracker).
