Natural Disasters Presentations

Our natural disasters presentations and experiments were a success! Students were asked to research a natural disaster of their choice and create a Google Slides presentation. In addition to teaching us about their disaster through their 'slideshow', they were also instructed to lead the class in a hands-on experiment or representation.

We learned about fog (and smog!) and made fog in a bowl.

We learned about earthquakes and the students made a demonstration of what damage might occur to houses near a shoreline:

We learned all about tsunamis and sink holes:

We learned how thunderstorms are formed by a cold front pushing warm air up:

And we learned about volcanoes! We also discovered that most of our natural disasters are related and have common causes.
